Poster and oral presentation guidelines

Posters

Posters should be approximately 42 inches wide by 42 inches tall, but absolutely no larger than 4 feet (120 cm) wide and 4 feet (120 cm) tall.

The posters will be up throughout the conference, but poster authors are requested to stand by their posters during the Tuesday evening poster session. This session is an opportunity for you to talk about your work.

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) has put together a PDF that explains the basics of writing a poster, including recommended color combinations and fonts. It is geared towards scientific posters, but can be adapted to other types of posters. Tips for Posters

Oral Presentations

Each talk is scheduled for 15 minutes. We recommend that you leave at least 2-3 minutes for questions.  Presentations can be made in PowerPoint or Keynote. Please bring your talk to the conference on a flash drives or CD, so that it can be transferred to the computer. We will have both PC and Macintosh computers available for presentations. If you are including video in your presentation, please be sure to copy the video onto the flash drive or CD as well.

OHSU has also put together tips for oral presentations.  In addition, the American Society of Primatologists has tips on how to make effective slides (https://asp.org/education/powerpoint.cfm).
